Vietnamese Women’s Museum takes part in Twitter’s MuseumWeek 2016

The Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) is joining 3000 museums around the world for a worldwide cultural event on Twitter called “MuseumWeek”.

The first MuseumWeek was held in 2014 and attracted more than 2300 museums across 29 countries. Each year, museums across the globe tweet pictures from their galleries and collections, using the hashtag #MuseumWeek. The event give international followers an insight into what takes place at each institution. This year is the third consecutive MuseumWeek, and the event is taking place between March 28th – April 3rd.

Each day offers a different theme with its own hashtag. VWM will be participating all week. Here’s a look at what we will be sharing:

#secretsMW – Monday 28 March: A look behind the scenes, and a peek at some of the unusual secret items in our collection.

# peopleMW – Tuesday 29 March: A tribute to those who made the museum come to life.

#architectureMW – Wednesday 30 March: Telling the story of our remarkable buildings.

#heritageMW – Thursday 31 March: Presenting highlights of Vietnam’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

#futureMW – Friday 1 April: Our innovative projects, goals and plans for future development.

#zoomMW – Saturday 2 April: A very close up look at our collections.

#loveMW – Sunday 3 April: It’s time to share our love for the museum!

Museum Week certainly offers a great opportunity for the Vietnamese Women’s Museum to introduce itself to the international museum community. Throughout the week, viewers from all over the world will get to know more about our museum and the beauty and strength of Vietnamese women.
