The mobilization: Finding everlasting souvenirs

Home / Tin tức / The mobilization: Finding everlasting souvenirs

The great resistance war to defend Vietnam happened more than one- third of a century ago, but the memories of war still linger in the minds of women. They were mothers and wives who saw their dearest people off to battle for the independence of the nation. They were soldiers who fought the enemy. They lived in enemy zones, and occupied areas, and fought resolutely facing death or prison.

In order to keep the memories of a bygone era, The Vietnamese Women’s Museum shares diaries, letters, photos, and souvenirs related to the proud history of a nation. These artifacts are collected from women throughout the country, individuals, and families. They are important materials and exhibits and the Vietnam Women’s Museum is an important source in helping organize exhibitions and publications on the subject of women in the war. This will contributes to educating traditional values to all people, especially the young generation.

The mobilization will last for one year, starting on May 18th, 2013 on the occasion of International Museum Day with the theme: Memory and Creativeness = Changing Society. This mobilization will end on May 17th, 2014, with a closing ceremony on May 18th, 2014.
