On the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the liberation of Hanoi Capital City (10/10/1954 - 10/10/2013) and the 83rd anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (20/10/1930 - 20/10/2013), the Women Publishing House and Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) in coordination with Kim Đồng Publishing House, Trẻ (Young) Publishing House and Nhã Nam Culture & Media Company will jointly organize the “Autumn Book Festival 2013”.
Vietnamese Women’s Museum received the Traveler’s Choice Attraction Award 2013
The Vietnam Women's Museum has just received its second award for 2013 from TripAdvisor: “Travelers’ Choice Attraction Award 2013”. The seminar “Museum as centres for lifelong learning”
On August 28th 2013, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts (SEAMEO SPAFA) in collaboration with SEAMEO Centre for Lifelong Learning (SEAMEO CELLL) and local museums in Hanoi, Vietnam organized the seminar ‘MUSEUMS AS CENTRES FOR LIFELONG LEARNING’. More than 30 participants including museum managers and curators from Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam attended the seminar.

Canada presents “Accessible Arctic” exhibition in Hanoi
The Embassy of Canada in Vietnam announces the opening of the photo exhibition “Accessible Arctic”. These spectacular photos of Canada’s Arctic were assembled and curated by the Canadian Museum of Nature together with Canadian Geographic. The exhibition will take place at the Women’s Museum, 36 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hanoi and is open to the public from 8h00 to 17h00 from 21-31 August, 2013. The opening ceremony will be held at 12h00 on August 21, 2013 at the Women’s Museum.
Indonesian National Army Commander-in-chief’s wife visiting VWM
Ms. TeTTy Agus Suhartono, the wife of the Commander-in-chief of the Indonesian National Army paid a visit to VWM on July 26, 2013. She spent nearly an hour on learning about Vietnamese women through the exhibit with the following topics: Women in the family; Women in history and Women’s fashion. Ms. TeTTy Agus Suhartono was really moved about the strength and strong will of Vietnamese women in the war of resistance for national defense.
The exhibition: “Smiling Tears” in Ha Nam Province
Responding to the Vietnam Family Year, in celebration of the Vietnam Family Day, June 28th, within the framework of activities such as Launching the club “Model Family” of Đồng Du commune in Bình Lục Province, the Ha Nam Women’s Union organized the exhibition “Smiling Tears” with the support of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) on June 19th, 2013. The exhibition will give visitors a real insight into the issue of domestic violence in Vietnam through the victims’ voices.
