Canada presents “Accessible Arctic” exhibition in Hanoi
The Embassy of Canada in Vietnam announces the opening of the photo exhibition “Accessible Arctic”. These spectacular photos of Canada’s Arctic were assembled and curated by the Canadian Museum of Nature together with Canadian Geographic. The exhibition will take place at the Women’s Museum, 36 Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Hanoi and is open to the public from 8h00 to 17h00 from 21-31 August, 2013. The opening ceremony will be held at 12h00 on August 21, 2013 at the Women’s Museum.
Indonesian National Army Commander-in-chief’s wife visiting VWM
Ms. TeTTy Agus Suhartono, the wife of the Commander-in-chief of the Indonesian National Army paid a visit to VWM on July 26, 2013. She spent nearly an hour on learning about Vietnamese women through the exhibit with the following topics: Women in the family; Women in history and Women’s fashion. Ms. TeTTy Agus Suhartono was really moved about the strength and strong will of Vietnamese women in the war of resistance for national defense.
The exhibition: “Smiling Tears” in Ha Nam Province
Responding to the Vietnam Family Year, in celebration of the Vietnam Family Day, June 28th, within the framework of activities such as Launching the club “Model Family” of Đồng Du commune in Bình Lục Province, the Ha Nam Women’s Union organized the exhibition “Smiling Tears” with the support of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) on June 19th, 2013. The exhibition will give visitors a real insight into the issue of domestic violence in Vietnam through the victims’ voices.
Meeting with travels agents at the Vietnamese Women’s Museum
On the morning, May 23rd the Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) cooperated with the Vietnam Tourism Association to organize a meeting with the theme: “The VWM – An attractive destination for City Tour”. A lot of travel agents in Hanoi participated in the meeting. This is one of the efforts of the VWM with the aim to promote and advertise Vietnamese women’s traditional history and culture to domestic and overseas visitors. By organizing the meeting, the museum wants to seek chances for cooperation opportunities and integrate into tour programs with the travel agents in order to attract tourists.
Scientific workshop “How to Attract Visitors to the Museum”
“How to Attract Visitors to the Museum? How to have public museums serve a necessary role in the systems of cultural and educational institutions? Can museums do something to contribute to social change? These were the central issues discussed by museum representatives during the May 17th workshop at Ho Chi Minh Museum. The workshop celebrated 36 years of International Museum Day and was organized by the Cultural Heritage Association of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh Museum, and Viet Nam Museum Network.
The mobilization: Finding everlasting souvenirs
The great resistance war to defend Vietnam happened more than one- third of a century ago, but the memories of war still linger in the minds of women. They were mothers and wives who saw their dearest people off to battle for the independence of the nation. They were soldiers who fought the enemy. They lived in enemy zones, and occupied areas, and fought resolutely facing death or prison.

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Australia - Vietnam diplomatic relations, Madam Anna Burke began her official visit to Vietnam.

In order to develop the museum and theater staff’s skills at building art education programs, the Center for Research, Support, and Development of Culture (A & C) in collaboration with the International Puppetry Association (UNIMA) and Etcétera Puppetry Theatre of Spain organized the discussion "Developing a program of art education using puppets".
