The exhibition: “Smiling Tears” in Ha Nam Province
Responding to the Vietnam Family Year, in celebration of the Vietnam Family Day, June 28th, within the framework of activities such as Launching the club “Model Family” of Đồng Du commune in Bình Lục Province, the Ha Nam Women’s Union organized the exhibition “Smiling Tears” with the support of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) on June 19th, 2013. The exhibition will give visitors a real insight into the issue of domestic violence in Vietnam through the victims’ voices.
200 participants took part in the opening ceremony including representatives of many provincial sectors, provincial women’s union, some leaders of districts and the city, 21 women’s unions in commune and towns in Binh Luc Province, delegates committees, local government departments, a cell secretary, village head of Đồng Du commune and numerous officials and members of women’s union in Đồng Du commune. Through the true stories of women in the exhibition, the participants were so moved and sympathized with both physical and mental pain as the desire to overcome their destiny and circumstance to have a better life of single mothers. Through the exhibition, all local levels and sectors aware of their responsibilities and their cooperation in implementing the prevention of domestic violence as well as have some effective methods to support domestic violence victims.
After displaying in Đồng Du commune, Ha Nam women’s union will organize the exhibition in some communes such as Thanh Thủy commune in Thanh Liêm province; Liên Sơn commune in Kim Bảng province; Thanh Châu commune and Lương Khánh Thiện ward in Phủ Lý city.
